Press Release

Update as of June 16, 2020:

The upcoming iMAGINE Lakelands STEAM Festival has been postponed. The new date will be April 17, 2021

iMAGINE Lakelands is a science, technology, engineering, art, and math festival put on each year by South Carolina’s Coalition for Mathematics and Science and The Arts Center of Greenwood to foster the love of learning and career readiness in our children. The festival is FREE to the public and is made possible by both local partners.

Many of iMAGINE’s partners have been placed on precautionary travel bans to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and they won’t be able to come to Greenwood and make the festival all it can be.  With the virus making its way across South Carolina, iMAGINE Lakelands is following suit with other local businesses, schools, and events to heed the recommendations of the CDC in limiting public gatherings.

The health and security of our staff, our community, and our partners are more important than an 2020 festival date.  Much of COVID-19 is unknown at this point, so the postponement is a precautionary measure until we understand more.

Save the Date for iMAGINE Lakelands on April 17, 2021 from 11:00 - 3:00 in Uptown Greenwood!  We hope to see you there for a fun and exciting event!
